Albert Einstein

April 14, 2016

Albert Einstein, the most influential physicist of the 20th century, played a major role in education. Einstein was born in Germany on March 14, 1879. His father, Hermann Einstein, was an engineer and salesman. His mother, formerly Pauline Koch, looked after the household. Einstein had a sister, Maja, who was two years younger than him. Throughout his childhood, Einstein struggled with speech impediments and other mental hindrances. In the late 1880’s Max Talmud, a Polish medical student, became an informal tutor to the young Einstein. It was Talmud who introduced Einstein to the science that sparked his burning passion.

Throughout his life, Einstein contributed a great deal to education. One of his greatest accomplishments was his establishment of the equation E = mc 2 . Some of his other achievements include the completion of the general rule of relativity and honor of a Nobel Prize. Einstein’s efforts will be forever implemented in the education system, even as methods evolve.
