Freed By Demand

March 16, 2016

After numerous protests and rallies against Sony Records for not letting Kesha out of a contract with Lukasz Gottwald, Sony finally decided to release Gottwald from his career at Sony.

Sony refused to let him go after Kesha lost her court trial, claiming Gottwald had an excellent relationship with Sony. The swarm of protesters surrounding Sony’s headquarters in Manhattan held signs that read things such as, “Sony supports rape” and “drop Luke to free Kesha”. Rallies combined with the raging force of support from megastars like Lady Gaga and Adele were too much for Sony to handle.

On March 9, 2016 Lukasz was set free from his long-term Sony career, and Kesha was set free from her contract.
