The two rappers went into a feud after Eminem dissed Machine Gun Kelly in his song “Not Alike” from his new album “Kamikaze.”
Eminem dropped his new surprise album at midnight on August 31st. The album is about how he wishes the new age rappers would get out of his territory. In his song, “Lucky You,” he goes after what is known as “mumble rappers”.
In the song “Not Alike” Eminem gets a few things off of his chest. “So he does a feature, decides to team up with Nina / But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne / If you wanna come at me with a sub, Machine Gun / And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who you are, Kelly / I don’t use sublims and sure don’t sneak-diss / But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.”
On September 3rd, three days after “Kamikaze” was released, Machine Gun Kelly released a new song called “Rap Devil,’ where he disses the world-renowned rapper Eminem.
Later that day, Machine Gun Kelly tweeted, “I’m standing up for not just myself, but my generation. I’m doing the same s*** you did back in ur day. Life is still real on my side, and I had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone I called an idol.”
Eminem fired back with his new diss song “Killshot,” in which he imagines Machine Gun Kelly as the “stan” from his song in 2000. The song features lines like, “how you gonna name yourself after a gun and rock a man-bun,” “feel like I’m babysitting Lil Tay,” and “had to give you a career to destroy it.”
The two rappers continue to make remarks toward each other on social media and during interviews. The only thing we all can do is sit back and see who will go after who next.
