Ellen Has Been Cancelled
October 29, 2020
Everyone should know who Ellen DeGeneres is by now. From starring as the voice of Dory from the Disney movie “Finding Nemo” to hosting her own comedic weekday talk show, a show that makes many charitable contributions and one that hosts many guest celebrities, this woman has done a lot. However, this year has been hard on Ellen due to allegations regarding the way she has been treating employees and guests on her talk show, “The Ellen Show.”
Earlier this year, Ellen was accused of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct from 36 former employees who previously worked for her talk show – some true and some untrue. More than 10 sexual harassment cases were thrown onto Ellen, some of which accused her of inappropriate actions like groping. She has also had many celebrities criticize her for the negative way she has been treating staff and guests on her show.
Many fans of Ellen are starting to realize that they may have been sold a lie, and everything she has said and done has been an act. DeGeneres has been noted to act like a “snob” towards everyone in Hollywood, often going to restaurants and complaining about the smallest things like a server chipping a nail or just being plain mean to her guests. Comedian Kevin T. Porter has said, “Ellen DeGeneres is one of the meanest people alive.” This is nothing new when it comes to Hollywood, though. Celebrities being rude to one another is very common, but for Ellen, the woman known for saying “be kind to one another” at the end of every episode of her talk show, these accusations are ironic.
The famous talk show went under investigation, and by the end of it, Ellen quit and her show has since been canceled and will no longer be shown by the NBC Network. Ellen said that she was offended and backstabbed by everyone she worked with. Guest celebrities, employees, and producers are now all on Ellen’s bad side.
A note from the author: As a longtime fan of Ellen, I am really saddened and disappointed by everything that happened in these past months. Everyone, including Ellen, should abide by her famous saying and be kind to one another.
