McDonald’s Around the World
February 16, 2017
We all remember those sweet days of childhood when our parents took us to McDonald’s where we ran around the playground while we waited for our apples and chicken nuggets. I think I speak for all of us when I say we have all had our fair share of McNuggets, McChickens, Big Macs and french fries, but what about all the other types of food around the world sold at McDonald’s? And what exactly do other countries offer on their McDonald menus?
Starting off in our neighboring country, Canada offers McDonald’s signature french fries covered in brown gravy and cheese curds.
2. Bubur Ayam has a dish served with chicken strips in a Malaysian-style soup topped with onions, ginger, fried shallots, and chillies.
3. In China, they offer a Rice McWrap that consists of a flour tortilla wrapped around a beef burger or a crispy chicken burger with mushroom, sesame flavored rice, BBQ sauce, and salad.
4. A popular item on the Finland McDonald’s menu is the Rye Vegetarian Feast. This meal consists of a veggie burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickles, three different sauces, all served on rye bread.
5. In Hungary, a popular menu item is the Tzaziki McWrap. It is a flour tortilla with a spicy pork patty, cream cheese, red and yellow peppers, onions, lettuce, and cucumbers, all covered in a Greek sauce.
I know we all love our regular french fries and ketchup, or a nice Quarter Pounder, but you never know, the next time you’re visiting Hungary or Finland, these exotic McDonald’s menu items from all over the world might just beat your chicken McNuggets.
