21 North is where the Firehouse Pub was formerly located. The original owner of 21 North, Connie Musgrave “was inspired to transform that into something that could be utilized for families and for more of the community than just a bar,” said manager Alicia Pelance.
21 North offers adult beverages as well as a wide selection of beverages for all ages.
They have a very open and fresh concept, which is unique compared to other restaurant businesses of Martinsville. “I definitely think we are innovative. We try new things, whether it’s different types of events or different types of foods. We’re welcoming of all ages, races, and backgrounds,” said Pelance.
21 North is completely renovated from the former Firehouse Pub. Pelance said, “Rather than wasting our resources to build something new, take what we already have and make it beautiful again.”
The employees are very close and supportive of each other, which attributes to the positive atmosphere. “I can’t say that there’s a single employee that I don’t genuinely love as if we’re family. We really have a good family dynamic here,” said Pelance.
21 North keeps up with the latest decor and trends, making it a fresh and modern element to the downtown area.
