Team Hailey or Selena?

There have been some swirling rumors going around the media about the feud between Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, and his wife, Hailey Bieber. The rumors reached their peak on Sunday, March 5, when Justin posted pictures of him at his 29th birthday party.

It should be noted that Selena dated Justin on and off throughout 2010 and 2018. Justin Bieber and Hailey got married in 2018 reportedly only 6 months after Justin broke up with Selena for a final time.

The drama between the two celebrities started on February 22 when Selena Gomez posted a video of her joking around saying she over-laminated her eyebrows. Hours later, Hailey Bieber posted an Instagram screenshot of herself and her apparent best friend, Kylie Jenner, featuring the both of them with the same eyebrows. Fans believe that Hailey and Kylie were mocking Selena.

On February 23, Kylie and Selena both denied the supposed feud. In one TikTok comment, Kylie called the accusations of her and Hailey mocking Selena’s eyebrows “a reach’, to which Selena responded with “the rumors are unnecessary” and that she is a fan of both Hailey and Kylie.

On that same day, Selena commented on yet another video referring to the drama. She thanked the fan who praised her for handling her and Justin’s break up, along with his marriage to Hailey, with maturity. Selena also wrote “I love you” in response to one fan who criticized “mean girls and nepo babies” for attacking Selena.

Selena Gomez also defended her longtime friend, Taylor Swift. Selena made a comment on a Tik Tok video that showed Hailey Bieber making a gag-like motion when Taylor Swift was mentioned with Selena calling Taylor “one of the best in the game.”

By the end of February 23, Selena Gomez announced her break from social media after stating in a Tik Tok live “I’m 30, I’m too old for this.”

Even with Selena off social media, the rumors grew and grew. Then on February 28, Hailey Bieber posted an Instagram story with Rema’s song “Calm Down”, but it was a version without Selena’s feature, which most fans considered to be a rude gesture towards Selena.

This brings us to the end, when Justin Bieber posted pictures on Sunday, March 5 of his 29th birthday party, which was an outdoor gathering featuring balloons and a concert. Most of the photos are of Justin smiling and laughing, except for one. There was only one picture of Hailey “sort of” hugging Justin, but he didn’t seem happy. Some fans have also noticed that Justin is not wearing his wedding ring in any of the pictures.

Fans believe that this is Justin’s way of saying he is on Selena’s side without interfering with his marriage. But fans will never know whose side Justin is on, or even if the ‘beef’ between the two women was actually real.
