Serving Up Sweet Memories

Dairy Queen
Serving+Up+Sweet+Memories

For many in Martinsville, the opening of the new Dairy Queen was highly anticipated.  The previous Dairy Queen shut down in 2018 to relocate for the I-69 project and the process of building a new store began in 2021. After months of speculation, the restaurant officially opened on September 24, 2023. The delay in opening was due to essential equipment not being available.

The store’s new interior features comfortable seating, bright lights, and cheerful decorations, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, from classic favorites like the famous DQ Blizzard to the Chili Cheese Hot Dog.

The opening created job opportunities for residents, possibly boosting the town’s economy.

For local teenagers like Paris Clephane, this provided new possibilities. She said, “My favorite part about this job is that everybody gets along and treats each other like family. A lot of the time, you can’t find that in a job.”

Store manager Jeff Smith looks forward to meeting new people and working with his crew. “Come check us out and enjoy the new Dairy Queen,” he said.
